When I was a kid growing up in California, Turkey Day was always one of my favorite holidays of the year. I even liked it better than Christmas. The whole family got together, usually at my Mom & Dad" house. It was a big todo. And because it was California the wheather was usually wonderful even in November. It was an outdoor day. Sometimes my dad & uncles would even cook the turkey (and sometimes a ham with it) out in the back yard and all us kids would have a great day playing together out side. Hide and seek, bad mitten, volley ball,ping pong in the garage, even water fights and football. Yeah really, it was cool! We would eat on the front porch (the whole family) because our front porch was huge and really long. I loved it! Good times and good memories of good family times.
